Pole Barn Kits in Idaho 2026: Delivered and Engineered for Idaho Snow Loads

If you are pricing a pole barn kit in Idaho, two questions probably sit at the top of your list. Will a kit shipped from out of state actually be engineered for Idaho snow, and will it get here without the freight eating the savings. Both are fair. Idaho is not a place to guess on a roof load, and it is a long way from a lot of the country's kit suppliers.

Columbia Structure is based in Castle Rock, Washington, and we deliver pole barn kits across Idaho, from the Treasure Valley around Boise, Nampa, and Meridian to the Magic Valley, eastern Idaho, and the Panhandle. This page walks through what an Idaho kit includes, what it starts at, and why the engineering is the part you cannot cut corners on here.

What "Idaho kit delivery" means with us

Here is the honest scope so your expectations are right. In Idaho, Columbia Structure supplies the kit and the stamped plans and delivers the material package to your site. We do not send a build crew, pull permits, or do site prep in Idaho. Those services are Southwest Washington only.

So an Idaho project goes one of two ways. You self-build from the included plans, which many of our kit customers do, or you hire your own local contractor to stand it. You get a professionally engineered building and the documentation to permit it, without paying full-service builder rates from out of state.

What comes in the kit

  • Every kit is the complete material package, engineered to your dimensions and delivered ready to build:

  • Pre-engineered stamped building plans

  • Engineered roof trusses at a 4/12 pitch, sized for your load

  • Treated posts and No. 2 or better framing lumber

  • 29-gauge metal roofing and siding in your color

  • Full metal trim package: ridge cap, gable, drip edge, fascia, J-channel, and door trim

  • All required fasteners, hardware, and brackets

  • Synthetic roof underlayment

  • Garage doors, a man door, and Low-E argon windows by kit size

Not in the kit: concrete footings and slab, excavation and site prep, labor, and permits. In Idaho those are yours or your contractor's to handle. The kit is the material package and the engineering, delivered.

Idaho kit starting prices

These are starting prices, engineered for a 25 lb ground snow load. That is a baseline, and it is exactly the number many Idaho sites will need to move on, which we will get to. Your real price depends on your snow load zone, delivery location, door and window choices, siding color, and any design changes. We confirm all of it in a formal quote before anything is ordered. There is no online payment.

  • 30 x 36 x 14. 1,080 sq ft, $28,150, One 10' x 12' garage door, one man door, 6 Low-E argon windows

  • 30 x 48 x 16 (popular). 1,440 sq ft, $36,860, Two 12' x 14' garage doors, one man door, 4 Low-E argon windows

  • 40 x 60 x 16. 2,400 sq ft, $48,240, Two 12' x 14' garage doors, one man door, 4 Low-E argon windows

Good for shops, detached garages, equipment and RV storage, and ag and storage buildings. We also spec sizes outside this list, so tell us your dimensions and use.

Idaho snow loads are the whole ballgame

This is the part that separates a kit that lasts from a kit that fails an inspector or a February storm. Idaho's ground snow loads swing hard by location and elevation. A build in the Treasure Valley and a build in the mountains or the Panhandle can be worlds apart, and some Idaho sites carry snow loads several times the 25 lb starting baseline. A generic catalog kit built to a national average is not a safe bet here.

Our plans are prepared for your specific site. Before we finalize a number, we review your delivery ZIP, county, and local load requirements, and the trusses and structure are sized to that load, not a one-size template. Stamped plans are commonly required to pull a permit across Idaho counties, and they are included in the kit, not billed back to you later. That is what turns a delivered pile of materials into a building your county will actually approve.

How delivery works

We deliver kit packages across Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Delivery cost and logistics depend on your ZIP code, and we plan the timing so your materials arrive when you are ready to build. We give you the real delivered number up front as part of the quote, so freight is not a surprise line at the end.

Getting a real Idaho quote

Online estimates are a starting point, not a quote. The honest price for your building depends on your site, your snow load, your size, and your finishes together. Start free two ways: spec your building in our online 3D pole barn designer, or send us your size, use, and Idaho location and we will work up a real kit price, engineered for your load zone.

If timing is the holdup, financing is available through Acorn Finance, and you can pre-qualify in minutes in a way that is designed not to impact your credit score.

That is the idea. A kit engineered for Idaho's real snow loads, stamped plans that pass, an honest delivered price, and people who answer the phone when you have a question halfway through the build.
